It never hurts to have an extra Xanax in your pocket for Thanksgiving

thanksgiv-dayToday my family gathered to give thanks. We thanked the One God, The Almighty Universe and The Eternal Spirit for all our blessings.

Great Feasts have always begun with the breaking of bread. This practice has been perpetuated for millennia. Every family has its own traditions and for the Polish, a special bread known as Oplatki is used during the blessing of the Christmas Eve meal. Today my family began a new tradition for Thanksgiving. 410298_793_9383_34

As family Elder, I started with this blessing –

We gather today to break bread in celebration of all the bounty we share as a family- love, laughter and tears. May these blessing multiply as we travel throughout our years.

The Oplatki was broken and as I passed it to the left and right, I asked each family member to express their Thanks aloud as they broke their portion and passed it on.

tardiscatI am thankful we were all together today. I’ve learned from Doctor Who that, “Every Christmas is last Christmas”-it is very true when you think about it (Everyday is the last day of something in our life), today as we celebrate “Last Thanksgiving.” I am eternally thankful for all those here to celebrate in our blessings!
